Soapbox Comments

From AD0AB, Jim

Thanks Everyone for the QSOs, Jim

From EA7KB, Leo

Heard several stations that I could not work, bad conditions. See you in the next

From K0KEX, Rick

Opp's, forgot about the time change...Happy Thanksgiving to all...Rick k0kex

From K0SKC, Outlaw 1

Worked that "Desperado Dave" (W0YZZ) up there in that Jesse James town of St. Joseph, MO. Thanks fer the Q! de Outlaw 1

From K1NV, Jon

Getting back on PST gives me time to participate again. There didn't seem to be a lot of activity, probably due to band conditions. 20M was essentially dead, so most contacts were made on 40M. 80M was sounding good when I had to sign off due to another commitment, but I had a good time working the Sprint, anyway. It's interesting to note that it was tough to get a response from many CQing eastern stations early in the sprint. I could hear them much better than they could hear me. This is probably due to the lower background noise level out here prior to darkness.

From K3CKO, Bob

Started QRP but bands were not good. went to QRO with better results. Thanks to those I worked this sprint.

From K3EW, Phil

20 WAS Closed. 40 was short and long with a lot of QSB. Sorry to the K7K?? who I just couldn't pull out of noise and QSB. Loads of new stations on 40 which was quite active. Switched over to 80 at 915 and it too was very active. Thanks to all for a fun evening.

From K3SEN, DALE

Had a fail of the antenna on 80M, SWR suddenly jumped to 19:1? Got to look at that in the morning. Thanks for the Qs. Dale K3SEN. K-Line /6BTV

From K3ZGA, Bob

Enjoyable, as always. Thanks to everyone who organized and participated in this event. Happy Thanksgiving! 73, Bob Rig: IC-7300 at 100 Watts to an OCF Vertical Flagpole. Used my Begali Spark this month.

From K4BAI, JOHN

Forgot to ask XYL to have dinner before the sprint started. Lost 22 minutes for chow. Bands in fair shape with a lot of QRN on 80 and 160. QSOs by bands: 20: 9. 40:22. 80:14. Thanks for all QSOs. 73, John, K4BAI.

From K4JPN, Steve

Got a late start, and conditions were rough for stations to copy my QRP signal. Thanks to all who pulled me through. 73 Steve K4JPN

From K5BZH, Jim

Ran my TT Argonaut V barefoot at 15 watts.

From K8AG, John

Thanks to Art, Drew and Greg for pulling out my 900mW squeak. 72/73

From K8TEZ, Larry

Yikes, the QRN was terrible tonight but at least 80 meters was long. 40 was a bit quieter but still a lot of noise...I hope I regain my hearing by Thanksgiving ....we would like to wish everyone in SKCC a Happy Thanksgiving & also best wishes for the upcoming Holiday Season.

From K9PMV, Jerry

Worked only the last half hour. Stuck to Eighty Meters this time, it was so good during SS on the weekend. See you all next event. 73 and have a great Thanksgiving.

From KA2KGP, Tom

A nice SKS this month. 20m. was dead, but 40 & 80 were in gud shape here in WNY. Rig: IC-7000 at 100w. into a G5RV up 25 ft. w/ WWI German Junkers Straight Key. Happy Thanksgiving to all SKCC.

From KA5TJS, Allen

Working on the S so did not jump on every CQ. Picked up 3 more. Conditions on 20 were not great but 40 was crowded. Thanks to all and CU next month.

From KB0ETU, Phil

Worked QRO for a change with 35 watts using an Icom IC-7600 to G5RV using a Bencher straight key. Don't believe I did any better than doing QRP. Band sort died the second hour - all contacts on 40 meters. Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving to one and all. 73, Phil - KB0ETU

From KB2PLW, Randy

I am very grateful to Phil, K3EW for answering my puny 8 watt 6L6 xtal TX.

From KC9UNL, Curt

I operated for most of two hours on 40 and some 80 meters. Band conditions IL were terrible. Sorry I couldn't give out more bonus points.

From KE0CU, Hank

Enjoyed the night. Worked all on 40 m.

From KE5YUM, Terry

The bands appeared to be short last night. I only bagged one in the 30 minutes I was on. Thanks to AD0AB. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Terry

From KG4IKQ, Jim

Sorry to my OR friends, you were both just barely above the background noise. Thanks for sticking with me.

From KK0I, Jack

Got a late start ... band conditions very noisy here. Managed to catch a few. See you next month. 73, jack

From KM4FO, Dwight

It was fun as always!

From N0TA, John

Thanks for the Q's!

From N0UMP, Bill

Didn't get to operate very long because of Thanksgiving dinner at church. Hope to see everyone on the next one...73...Bill

From N4EEV, Mike

K3 and a dipole @35ft. Condx could have been better but fun none the less. Thanks for the QSO. 73 Mike

From N4OW, AL

Fun SKS - 40 got very hot for me, many 599 sigs worked tonight. Happy Thanksgiving to all the fine SKCC members. 73 de AL N4ow 11375s

From NF5U, Jerry

Lots of signals tonite, most were on 40m and long. 20 was dead here and I never could tune any stations on 80m, so good ole 40m was it tonite. Happy Thanksgiving to all, enjoy your holiday, stay safe and I will too! 73s.

From NS3X, Mark

Thank You for a nice Sprint-Happy Thanksgiving! See you on-the-air!

From W0N, Fred

W0N is a spec event call celebrating the 150th anniversary of Nebraska Statehood this year 2017. Fred, KB0LF, was op in the SKS Tuesday evening. Thanks to all for a fun time, as usual for SKCC events. Used my str key for most qsos, but my bug for a couple.

From W0YBS, Bob

Decided to do this one with the old radios. They were quite a work out. They worked great though. Thanks to all for the qso's and hope to see you again in the next one. 73-Bob

From W3NP, Dave

Had one lonely contact on 20 with KG4IKQ at the very beginning. Moved to 40 which was packed and then to 80 which was in very good shape. Highlights: worked K1KV in NV on both 40 and 80 with greats signal and Leo EA7KB in Spain answered my CQ on 40 - 559 both ways, Tnx Leo. I called CQ SKS on 1818 for a few minutes - no takers on 160 this evening. I thought condx were excellent. Rig: K3 @ 100 watts to 160 meter horizontal loop now at 50'. Keys: alternated between HST & GHD-501A cooties. Very enjoyable and relaxing evening. 73, Dave in WV

From W4AFB, Keith

Not a lot of time to play with Thanksgiving Day prep, but I had a blast! I even ran into Curt and got his bonus. Thanks Curt!

From W4RQ, RICH

Always I enjoy this evening. 20 meters..just a few us & I spent most the sprint on 40 meters. As far West into TX and North into Michigan. Didn't hear a peep from the West Coast tonight. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL GOD BLESS OUR SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN.... THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE !

From W8KBW, Max

Although band conditions weren't the greatest still managed to make a few qso's for a great multi multi effort thanks to K8AQM, KE8CEW, NU8Z, K8KIC, KD8VSQ de Max W8KBW

From WA0BGV, Slim

A shout out to number 5. Saw your score but didn't hear your signal.

From WB4BIN, Dave

Tough night. My 10 watts and random wire didn't seem to be getting out very well. It was still fun, though.

From WB6IZG, Bruce

My first SKS had fun but wonder why people don't spread out more. On 40M everyone was within about 15 Khz.

From WB7EUX, Tom

Tough night - limited to 25 watts on 40m. Thanks to all ops and to the organizers.

From WB8YXF, Fr Richard

Thanks to the ones I was able to reach..... seemed bands were busy... 73 Fr richard

From WV8DH, Dave

Late start and slow evening for me. 40 meters was in decent shape and not too noisy. Ran with my IC-7300 and still getting used to using the scope and it is a little distracting for me. Antenna still the ZS6BKW @ 32 feet and Japanese JJ-38 straight key. Still a lot of fun and thanks to the organizers. Best 72 from Wild and Wonderful West Virginia, Dave
