SKCC Weekend Sprint Rules

 

1. Summary:

Call CQ SKS. Work stations once per band using a key which meets the requirements for SKCC membership. Exchange NAME, SPC and SKCC# (or power for non-members). The final score is (Total QSOs * SPC multiplier) + Centurion Bonus + Tribune bonus + Club Bonus. The use of spotting networks IS permitted. Asking for a QSY to another band after a valid contact IS permitted. Use of the K3UK SKCC Sked page is encouraged.

2. No More Slot Window:

The event will be 24 hours unless a theme requires a slot window.

3. Eligibility:

All CW operators, who by using manual keys, meet the requirements for SKCC membership may participate in the monthly Straight Key Sprint. See http://skccgroup.com for membership details. QSO’s are to be made using a Straight Key, Bug or Cootie Key/Side Swiper. You do not need to be an SKCC Member to participate.

4. Date and Time:

The monthly weekend, Straight Key Sprint will be held on the 2nd Sunday of each month from 0000Z to 0000Z.
Schedule changes, if required, will be posted to the SKCC yahoo group list.

5. Frequencies (+/- 10 KHz):

160 meters 1820 KHz
80 meters 3530 KHz and 3550 KHz,
40 meters 7055 KHz and 7120 KHz,
20 meters 14050 KHz
15 meters 21050 KHz
10 meters 28050 KHz

WARC bands are not used.

6. Categories:

Members (must have SKCC# prior to the start of the contest).
Non-members (must use eligible manual keys, see the SKCC home page for requirements).
QRP (5 watts or less).

7. Call & Exchange:

Call "CQ SKS". Members exchange NAME, SPC and SKCC#.
Centurion members follow SKCC# with ‘C’.
Tribune members follow SKCC# with ‘T’.
Non-members exchange NAME, SPC and POWER followed by ‘W’.
(SPC is State, Province or Country).

8. Points, Multipliers and Bonus:

One QSO point for each station worked per band.
One multiplier for each SPC worked per Sprint.
5 bonus points are awarded for each Centurion per band.
10 bonus points are awarded for each Tribune per band.
25 bonus point are awarded for working the SKCC club call per band.

9. Scoring:

(QSO points x SPC multiplier) + Centurion bonus + Tribune bonus + Club bonus

10. The Entry Form:

On the entry form, add up all the bonus points and enter that number on the form.

11. Submissions:

Logs are not required unless requested by the contest manager. Submit scores via the web at www.skccgroup.com/sprint/wes or by email. Scores must be submitted no later than the next Sunday evening following the event. The following information is required for each submission:

Name
Call
SKCC number (if applicable)
QSO points
SPC Multipliers
Centurion/Tribune Bonus
Claimed score
Power used (for statistics only)
Soapbox comments (optional but desired)

12. Awards:

WES Awards Manager Gene - KL7GLL sends certificates to the top three members overall as well as the top three places for members who do not yet have their C or T.
