KE5YUM Operated by: Terry

I ran QRP tonight with my MFJ 9040 and a 40 meter inverted V at 30 feet. Thanks to all who worked me. All the best, Terry

WA6OEF Operated by: Preston

short and sweet... 20m was great, 40m not so good.
tnx to all.

N8KR Operated by: Ken

The newly-erected 40m dipole worked great . . . so great that my garage door went up and down and the light blinked perfect code!!! Larry - TEZ - had a great signal!

First SKS for the Drake Station

KA2KGP Operated by: Tom

Another nice SKS. The bands were in decent shape here in WNY. Rig: TenTec Argosy II at 50w. into 5 band dipole up 25 feet, straight key (of course!) 73

WU1V Operated by: Rick

Enjoyed the sprint, made the last 40 minutes. Thanks to all who managed to pull my 5 watt sigs out of the band noise. 73 es 72, Rick

AC8JF Operated by: Wes

Had fun in my first SKS.

WX4RM Operated by: Ron

5 watts into homemade "Buddypole" style antenna in attic for 20 meters. I was glad for all the SKCC members who heard me. I had fun !

AF3Z Operated by: Jim

Once again I enjoyed the Sprint. I was on 20 meters for about an hour, and then on 40 for the final 20 minutes. Both bands were in good shape here. 50 watts to some wire off the ground about 15 feet max. ;-) Navy Flameproof key all the way... and a pleasure. 73!

Glad to back in the mix. Spent time cruis'n and catching up on home chores, so hope to get back into skcc activities prior to FD.
KU9RK, Tom, in IN was my last qso and I copied the call correctly but sent it wrong.. I hope Tom you included me in your score. Spent most of my time on 20m. I still have not fixed my 15m, but that is in the que of projects!
73 all and good SKS. I hope to do better next time.

First Sprint and had a good time. 20 was good for a bit then 40 but 80 never developed as I thought it may. I still enjoyed myself and thanks to all that endured my "newbie" fist. 73 Bill

K7CHS Operated by: Rick

Had a good time and thanks to all I contacted. Spent the last 15 minutes on 40m and only had 2 contacts. My last contact was K8TEZ, thanks Larry.

As usual, used my HB1B looking for new states in my QRP WAS hunt. None
to be had this time but lots of good contacts. Did work VA3NQ
to add ON to my SKCC QRP province list. Had a great time. Stayed on 20m
and condx there seemed pretty good. Thanks for the sprints!!!

WB8ENE Operated by: Art

Spent the entire time on 40 meters. Nice signals, but I had a bit of a hard time getting through the pileups with my 5 watts. Got several good signal reports when I finally did get through though. Thanks for the contacts, and see you on the air. 73, Art

AA2XB Operated by: Frank

Got home in time for only the last 45 minutes but caught the bonus station and the always present sks station, Ed, W7GVE.

N5JPX Operated by: Jim

Thanks for the contacts and the patience. I see guys talking about “hunt and pounce” operations but when you are QRP, it becomes a “wait and squeak” operation. SKCC is one of the few groups that actually answers the “squeaks” in a “contest” environment and takes the time to ask for information again to complete the contact. This is a really great group! Thanks to the organizers for another fun SKS.

Nice to have 20M open for an evening sprint, although running QRP still makes for hard work (or is that hardly working?). Thanks SKCC. 73

Both 40m and 20m seemed to have good activity throughout the sprint.
I had a ball with my kX-3 at 12 watts, 40m elevated Vertical, and my WB9LPU TinyBug.
Thanks to all for a great sprint, as usual.

Jumped in for a while and tried out a 1943 J-38 I just refurbished. It was a good test for the key! Also noticed a good number of new members having fun in the sprint and enjoyed working some of them.

N3EIN Operated by: Matt

Strong signals on 20 meters although contacts were predominantly with Arizona and Missouri stations. Decided to look for K8TEZ on 40 meters after hearing good OH signals there, but no replies. I like to keep things simple, but maybe it’s time to give the G5RV-Lite a companion. Thanks to all!

In the past six months I had QSO's with 43 states and 55 countries with this rig. Yep.... it's a keeper!

A good sprint with many new to me calls worked. Not all high numbers either.Got a QSO with Dick K2HT as he ran the club call W0CSR with a brand new SKCC number, thanks Dick!
40 meters was the hotspot here with most Q`s logged there.
One band for K8TEZ Larry for a bonus score, was he a busy guy!
Thanks all for the QSO`s hope to see some of you in the MO QSO Party April 6-7 as I mobile around western MO. 73 all Mark KI0I

I had a fun time participating in the SKS again. Thanks to all for the fun QSOs! 73 de Tony

WA1VIL Operated by: Greg

Always fun to sprint! Thanks to all who pulled out my QRP signal especially K7SDW who gave me a generous 579 from the left coast. 20 meters was good the first hour; 40 meters sounded strange at this end-like the signals were bubbling through water; 80 meters was noisy but worth the effort. K1LEE sorry we got cut off in the middle of our QSO, a 9 station came in sounding like a kW next door and I literally had to pull the 'phones off! 73 to all and catch you next time!

KDØEKT Operated by: Jason

My first SKS with my new amp! I found an old Palomar 300A in someone's shed and he sold it to me for $20! Running 300W for this one. Got lots of 599s!

For the first hour, 20m was great and the it died for me. Went to 40m and that was not so great. KX3 @5w.

NV9X Operated by: Jm

Nice sprint. Had a pile up on 40M. Sorry to stations I could not pull out. Some stations were same signal strength, making it hard to pull out a letter, a couple of times. Thanks to SKCC and K2RFP Sprint Logger.

This is my first Sprint in ages. Decided to use the new Begali Blade for the entire Sprint. The Blade is new enough that I had to install the cord on it to operate the contest. The picture is from before I got the cord on.
A good time was had and I've got the Sprints back on the calendar.

Somewhat OK conditions this time. Had to pull a few folks out of the noise, so thanks at this point for the patience. Need to work on my antenna a bit more. Tried 80m but nobody there, so only 20m and 40m were worked. Need to optimize the wire for 40m and then will do it QRP next time :). 73 de Mike

It sounds like the band was ok rig ft 817 5w it seem like 3 stations on every frequency.

40m was in good shape for a change. Lots of signals. Great fun again.

Great fun!

WB2UWU Operated by: Finn

What a bummer. Spent the first half hour trying to break the pile-up for K8TEZ with 80 watts from the old Omni-D using both the 5 band vertical and the 40 meter dipole. No Luck. Must be something wrong with the Omni. Change to the TenTec R4020 also on both antennas for the next half hour. No luck. Spent another half hour S&P on a few stations, still no contacts. Gave up Score = 0. Is this ham radio supposed to be fun ?

KB7GL Operated by: Vic

Had limited time. Thanks to K7IFG for putting me over 50 for my T!

Time goes by sooo fast when you are just listening. Tnx for the T's and a special tnx to Bob, WL7WH, for pulling my weak signal out of the weeds. As usual, another fun event. 73's to all.

Tried out my new loop antenna with the SGC-239. OK on 20 poor on 40.

K6ELQ Operated by: Tony

Wasn't thinking UTC Wednesday and came to the party 30 minutes late! First I miss the first 8 hours of the last WES and now this...yikes, my bad! Anyway, band conditions were pretty decent although local noise made 40m difficult. Due to the aforementioned time hiccup I did not have time to find K8TEZ for that bonus. Note to self - set the alarm in the calendar utility application! for the next SKS/WES.
