NT9K Operated by: Bill, 1926T from FL

I didn't get to work very many QSO's this time. Just wasn't feeling well, but I wanted to
try for a little while anyway. I worked my few contacts on 40m, in the old novice portion
of the band. Thanks everyone, for another great year of SKCC fun! The past 5 years have
been great! I wonder what the SKCC will be like in 5 more years?
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I hope to get to work lots of you during SKN and K3Y!
Until next time, 73. Bill NT9K..

WB5UAA Operated by: Guy, 6711 from TX

40M was kind of weak for me this time. 80M was much better for me this time around.
Looking forward to the next one.

WA1AR Operated by: Alan, 4079T from MA

Late start and then several phone calls resulted in a not so productive night.
But fun in any case.

N8BB Operated by: Werner, 5433T from MI

Now I know how it feels to be ignored. That 900 mw is tough to push up the coax and out
the wire on a cold night. Thanks to K4BAI and KA2KGP for hanging tough and working me.
Kieth was a good contact and some were even easy but others I just couldn't work through
the masses of signals. Changed my style and even worked Randy KB4QQJ first instead of dead
last, tnx Randy. Best wishes to all for a great holiday and hopefully a great New Year.

NE7D Operated by: Rock, 665T from OR

Not much here on 20M and never heard anything on 80 or 160 so 40 was THE band tonight!
Lots of QSB here tonight, but lots of stations heard with good signals. Didn't know til
a second ago that Gordon was Mr. Bonus! Tnx, as always, for the Q's.
Rock NE7D -- Salem, Oregon

KB1NHV Operated by: Art, 2775 from VT

2 hours go too fast! Was only able to make 5 contacts, 40 and 80 were quite busy but
extremely noisy! Heard N6WK but too many others were trying for him also. Fun as always.

K1PUB Operated by: Chas, 4101T from MA

Propagation didn't seem too good, but bands were noisy to make up for it (huh?....).
Started on 20, no activity, 40 had S7 noise so spent most of the sprint on 80 M. All the
usual S9+20 stations struggled to hit S7-S8 tonight. But still had fun.

Thanks and Happy Hollidays to all and see you in K3Y.

KB4QQJ Operated by: Randy, 3508T from NC

Wow, bands were really strange tonight, or maybe cause I was on a different rig. Newly
acquired ATS-3b. Thanks Larry. Ran 1 watt to my doublet and a PAR EndFedz 10/20/40. Zero
contacts on 20 meters. Never heard a station. At first 40 was dead so moved to 80 and
things were moving right along. Even had a run going instead of having to S&P. Strongest
signal was K2PAY Jerry in NY. 40 over!! John, K4BAI was very close. Tried and tried for
Russ, K0LUW but never made it. Heard a lot of regulars but not hearing me tonight. Several
new numbers and I am really happy to see some new LOW numbers showing back up. Switched
back to 40 in time to get a surprise bonus!! N6WK was good enough, haven’t worked Gordon
in a while, then find out he is the bonus station too. Eureka!!
Thanks to all for a fun Sprint. Thanks to Dave for putting it on, Dick for the software
and everybody in SKCC for making it fun!! A Very Merry Christmas to All.

Conditions weren't the best, but it was nice to make contact with a few stations I hadn't
worked before.

W3NP Operated by: Dave, 3182T from WV

Spent the entire 2 hours on 80 which was in good condx. I started out great but the last
half hour was hard on my 5 watt signal. Called Russ K0LUW repeatedly but no luck - same
with several other strong signals. Overall it was a good evening. I used my TT Argo V at 5
watts to the CF Zepp. Keys were the Vibroplex Champion and the Nye Master key. Merry
Christmas to all and see you in January on K3Y and the other events.

The bands were really bad tonite - had high noise level on 80m (s9) and the signals on 40m
were vary week. Nothing on 20m. always a lot of fun...

K4UFT Operated by: Ted, 4289T from SC

Got in last 40 Minutes. 3 Q's. Russ K0LUW was only Q on 40M ... strong as usual. Lots
of noise ... no other strong sigs. 80M a little better ... 2 Q's ... also noisy.

IC-7000 @50W to usual homebrew vertical and quarter-wave counterpoise wire. J-37 key.

Hope the new year brings better propagation ... looking forward to writing something
other than "7" or "3.5" in the freq column of my logbook.

Merry Christmas to all!

I had lots of Fun. Started on 20 meters, but it dropped out quickly so I went to 40 and
finished there. I am sorry to those that didn't get to work me.

I only had a few minutes (literally) to get on the air this evening, so I couldn't do too much. But what I did was a lot of
fun. 40 Meters was loud and I got to work my first SKCC number above 5000 (Thanks, David WB5NHH). 73, John.

Wow! little pileups on 80 meters. Thanks all for the qso's. N8BB I could just hear your
signals over my noise level. Thanks Werner, I think 80m is a new band for us.
Fun sprint. 73

What fun to hear some stations that I have never worked before. N4SAM, WS9E, KA4RUR,
K1DVA and K1NV to name a few...worked just over and hour and all on 80 meters. 80 meters
was in superb condition. Strongest signal was Russ K0LUW at about 20 db over s9. Slim,
WA0BVG was also strong, about 15 over s9. Merry Christmas to all my SKCC family and HNY,
looking forward to K3Y season. 73, Kieth 2048T

Great sprint...lots of fun. 40mtr good to west coast but couldn't hear anyone closer than
CO so went to 80mtr and signals were great. Appologies to all i didn't get in the log on
80mtr, still learning to work thru the pileups....hihi Thanks to all those who were
patient. Great fun and look forward to next time.

Didn't get much air time this sprint but fun as always. Thanks to all who make SKCC happen!
Happy Holidays to everyone!

K1NV Operated by: Jon, 2609T from NV

Only four stations were worked on 20 meters before it folded, including non-member HL2DC
(Lee). The majority of the sprint was spent on 40 meters until it began to sound
depopulated around 0140Z.

No New Englanders were heard, but a few mid-Atlantic stations were in evidence including
mainstay WA1LWS (Hans) in MD. VE5BCS (Harold) in SK was weak tonight on 40M while the
strongest stations were close to NV. I was glad to catch K8KFJ (Gary) in WV which doesn't
show up in the log very often.

80 meters was beginning to sound pretty good as the sprint ended, but I got into a long
QSO with non-member K7ELN in UT and worked only a few stations as it wound down toward
0200Z. I am going to send him a QSL with some SKCC info. Utah SKCC stations are less
plentiful than NV SKCC stations it seems.

I hope we can drum up some SKCC activity from Wyoming since that is the only state I need
for an SKCC WAS. See you all on Straight Key Night. Merry Christmas!

K4BAI Operated by: John, 3280 from GA

FT1000MP, Alpha 78, 1 KW, TH6DXX, dipole, inverted vee. 20 was weak at the start but
worked K1NV in NV there and heard a few other weak signals. 40M was a bit long, but
signals otherwise were pretty good with QSB. 80M was quite good without a hint of long
skip. Thanks for all QSOs. Merry Christmas to all and look forward to more QSOs next
year. 73, John, K4BAI.

N3EIN Operated by: Matt, 6742T from PA

A busy evening with Christmas preparations, but nothing that couldn't wait for the two
hours of SKS! 80m was in great shape in PA....so many signals, and so few contacts. I did
have a nice QSO with new member Eric W4OTN nr7320 and Randy KB4QQJ had the strongest
signal of the night. Thanks Carl K7ZYV nr205 for Mississippi and Ed W7GVE for digging me
out for Arizona on 40m, which seemed long tonight. Special thanks to those who make these
very enjoyable contests possible.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

home about 0215z. Looking forward to K3Y. Merry Christmas and 73 to all.

VE3AKV Operated by: Bob, 5204T from ON

Hello to all...

With only an hour to play radio and a truly weird sounding, very deep QSB happening on
40m, it turned out be a low scoring night for me. Interesting situation though, all the
QSO's were in the lower states...nothing less than 1000 miles. Thanks to all...and I'll be
back next month.

Bob 5204T

W4TMW Operated by: Tom, 6184T from GA

I found band condx were interesting. I stayed on 40M for almost the whole event and
tought the band was long with fast and deep QSB in the early stages. Then it went to
slower QSB. I only spent about 15 minutes on 80M. FINALLY had the pleasure of working
Gordon N6WK (skcc #3T) who had a booming signal into GA. Only head/worked 1 dx station
VE3FUJ....we had also worked eachother just hours before. :0)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all

KW6G Operated by: Chas, 252 from CA

My first SKS! Home on use or lose vacation so I decided to give it a try. Wonderful little
test. Worked 8 states with 16 QSO's in a little over 1-1/2 hours. Not bad for 100 watts to
a ground mounted vertical on 40 meters in late December. Work hours normally preclude me
from participating, but I do have a couple of weekend sprints under my belt now. I will be
back for more in 2011 - that is for sure!

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy 2010.

Thanks to all who took time to QSO me.

Didn't have much time for the sprint, just a few contacts. Rig: Elecraft K3 running 10
watts to random wire. Junker straight key.

VE3WMB Operated by: Michael, 120 from ON

Not a of operating time in this one (only 30 minutes) and I spent much of the time fiddling around with
using an RX only antenna for 80m (recently installed the K160RX option in my K2). The bands were quite
noisy here but there were lots of stations in the SKS. My station: Elecraft K2 @ 5W, G5RV and 4BTV vertical.
My best wishes to all for a very happy and safe Holiday Season.

This sprint was the first time that I stayed completely on 80 meters. My random wire
antenna (150 feet long) worked great, and I was running only 50 watts with my Kenwood TS-
520. I enjoyed making new contacts, and thanks go to all that I worked. Merry Christmas
and Happy New Year to all.

KE7YTE Operated by: Tom, 6447 from AZ

I missed the first half hour of fun. Was going to start on 14.050 Mhz. but it seemed most
sprinters were moving down so I followed. Thanks for a fun evening with my IC-756 ProIII
tapping out only 5 watts on my original Navy straight key to a Buddipole vertical dipole
tuned to 7.050 Mhz.

KC4FLT Operated by: Carl, 3625 from AL

Thanks only had half an hour of the contest to work - but it's always a fun time.
Thanks to our club officers who make it happen!

WS9E Operated by: Joe, 3859 from WI

I got on 40 and 80 Mtrs and managed a few contacts. 40 Mtrs was "long" which showed up
the shortcomings of my dipole which is only up 20 feet. Judging by the winter we are
having up here, any antenna improvements will have to wait until Spring.
Lots of club members turned out. Thanks to all. Happy Holidays. See you in January.

A pretty good SKS Sprint. 20m. was dead, but 40 & 80 were decent with strong signals.
Rig was Ten Tec Argosy at 50w. into a G5RV up 20 feet in a tree, & my old faithful
straight key. Nice to be in a warm shack, as I've moved into the bedroom for the winter
from my usual radio shack in my barn. CU next SKS & Merry Christmas to all. 73
