Papa's got a brand new bug!

Well, I took the plunge and bought a Vibroplex bug from a guy on QTH.com. It's a 1954 Lighting (#185391) and it just arrived today. Man, it is a nice looking key. Just beautiful. His photo of it didn't do it justice. Gray base. Perfect chrome after a little time with a micro fiber cloth.

Gentleman I got it from was second owner, having got it from a now SK friend. Both used it a lot, and obviously took care of it. I'd like to think it has a good home once again.

Only played with it a couple hours so far, but think I'll be able to pick this up with some practice. Need to slow it down a touch, but there's certainly ways of accomplishing that.

Well, back to bug practice.

I have an older 1940's vintage equivalent, the Lionel J-36, and it is my favorite key. I also have a TAC Hole in the Wall and a 1959 Vibroplex, but the Lightning bug just feels better. You heard it if we worked in the WES last weekend.
