Box to connect 2-3 keys to 2-3 radios

Postby KC9UNL » Sat Jan 19, 2013 3:37 am

Has anyone built a box which will allow 2-3 or more different keys to be connected to a couple of different radios? I know the circuitry but wonder about some of the details. Do you need to use shielded wire between the jacks to eliminate feedback and RF? Thanks for any help

I use a couple of audio splitter jacks that allow 2 audio jacks in and 1 out, or the reverse obviously. I plug cables from the key jack on 2 radios in and plug my keys into that. My keys are all wired in parallel, so there's no box involved.

I normally don't use 2 rigs at the same time, so it's no problem, but if I do, I simply disable the VOX/BK on one rig to keep from keying it, or just reach over and unplug one of the rigs from the dual jack. I'm too simple minded to do anything more sophisticated!
