Interesting concept

Post by nn8b » Mon Mar 12, 2007 3:58 pm

I copied this post from the Weekend Sprint.

While working the SKS Weekend sprint I came accross the OKQP or Oklahoma QSO Party. They are using 1x1 calls with the suffix that can spell Oklahoma if you work all of them.
Check: http://okdxa.org/web/html/okqp.htm

Neat idea. Can we work that into the sprints or into the next anniversary?

K1C
K2E
K3N
K4T
K5U
K6R
K7Y
K1C
K8L
K9U
K0B

(note K1C used twice)

K3N was reserved on the last day of the year for the last two years. Free at the moment. The rest look good.

What a neat idea! Next year's anniversary? If so, let's move this thread and keep a shadow copy here.

The W and N prefixes are also available for use so if the K3 was taken we could use one of the others.

I think we need to reserve them ASAP to insure we have them.

This also brings up another concept for the QSL cards. By arranging the cards in a verticle row it would spell CENTURYCLUB.

Another idea for the calls;

K1S....K1C
K2T....K2E
K3R....K3N
K4A....K4T
K5I.... K5U
K6G....K6R
K7H....K7Y
K2T.........
..........K1C
K8K....K8L
K9E....K9U
K0Y....K0B

There is one set of "freebies" in each group.

Use the first set of calls for the first two weeks then switch to the second set of calls for the remainder of the month.

This should generate more activity in the beginning. There was little activity for the first two weeks this year.

Special Event Callsigns

Post by KJ7BS » Tue Sep 11, 2007 9:52 pm

The club cannot reserve all the callsigns. We will need individual members to reserve the callsigns under their own calls. There is a rule against having more than a single special event call reserved for the same time.

We will however need to get special permission, blessed, to use the special event calls longer than 15 days.

I recommend we go through the ARRL VEC to get these special event callsigns.
