Sorry, I haven't been in the chatroom lately. I'm recovering from a hard drive crash. I hope to soon be able to join in again. This was fun and before my crash, I used it for setting up private skeds. The photo sharing works nicely too. Kev, I'd like to put a link to it from my skcc webpage. Maybe s...

Couldn't you make this a 24 hr event? I'd like to use my 20 meter RockMite but the band will be long gone by then. I have so much QRN on the low bands in my neighborhood that it makes QRP nearly impossible at night.

Hi Paul, send a message to: SKCC Webmaster Bill, NT9K bill@nt9k.com to be added to the elmer list. I think the elmer list is due to be enhanced. It would be nice to know what areas the elmers are competent in. Or to what degree they want to help, online, on air, in home etc. The times they might be ...

Here's my station. It's a Kenwood TS-870 with a Yaesu FT-101ex fer backup. In the photo you will see my keys. For K1Y/4, I used the Navy Flameproof. I also have a J37, a custom made paddle, my new 100th Anniversary bug and an SKCC LTA #37. My antenna is a Cushcraft MA5B mini-beam for 10,12,15,17,20 ...

The sliding slot: Submit the best totals that you have from a continous 4 hour period in your log. So, if I worked 5 qso's the first night, then the next day worked 12 from say 0800-1200z, then 6 from 1200z til the end at 2359z. I would submit 12 as being my best slot from 0800-1200z in my log. I wa...

Good suggestion Greg, I changed it to the following Sunday evening following the event. It could be longer, but the timely posting of the results should be considered too. Think 7 days is enough time?

Weekend Warrior Straight Key Sprint Rules Version 2.0 - April 27, 2007 Summary: Call CQ SKS. Work stations once per band using a key which meets the requirements for SKCC membership. Michael, I would participate in a QRP event. I have a program that cross referrences the skcc member list to the naqcc member list. Last time I looked nearly 300 people belonged to both clubs. I think alot of people would join in. I like this idea because of its educational possibilities. It opens u...

John said alot in his post, much to consider. Using the monthly SKN is a definate possibility. I think John also hit on something about that event. It was before my SKCC time, but wasn't the purpose of SKN to concentrate the members because there were not that many back then. Now, SKCC is all over t...

Now those are some good ideas! Being the Ted Nugent fan that I am, I also like the SKCC Weekend Warrior. My original thought was to pattern it exactly like the sprint but a longer timeframe. I liked what you said here: Try this out... SKCC Weekend Warrior. Submit your list of SKCC QSOs worked during...

It doesn't have to be 24 hrs. I was looking for an event that would be during daytime weekend hours when we might be able to get on the higher bands. I did have an alterier motive. I have a hard time staying awake for the sprints and seeing all the weekend daytime K1Y activity, thought it might be t...

The only bad thing I can see, would be the added workload for Gordon. He would be swamped with new Centurions.

The Fists winter sprint is Saturday February 10th 1700 - 2100z. That's the second Saturday. What if we picked up after the Fists sprint? We might get some of thier leftovers and maybe some new members. 24 hours is good. If we decide to do this monthly, I think a theme is a great idea to keep the eve...

SKCC Weekend Sprints

With the end of K1Y coming soon what will we do for an encore? It hasn't even ended yet and I'm already wanting more. My observations of K1Y have been that weekend daytime and evening events are where the numbers are. I would like to see a 12 or 24 hour event on the weekend similar to a qso party. S...
