Re: Centurian Rule Clarrification

Did the member you made contact with exchange his SKCC number with you? Rule #3 says both parties must be members, rule #6 as you stated. So no, it can't be used toward any award. Re: 60M awards ?

Thanks for the 60m Q John. Sorry I had to cut it short. No ant. for 60m yet! I was on my fan dipole (40-80-160) and the radio didn't like it! Nor did my TV,PC, or anything else in the room!! :D

First of all, welcome to SKCC and the forum! I wouldn't give up,and for that matter,I didn't! 15 wpm? Is that character speed and spacing? If you're at 15wpm...get on the air and start having real QSOs! When I was learning,I got to the point where I could recognize the letters and got on the air. Num...

I agree with Bill except on one point. I would set the character speed at 20 wpm.No less. Any less and you will count dits and dahs. That will slow you down. I used G4FON to learn and set character speed at 25wpm and effective speed at 5wpm. I still use G4FON every day. I am trying to increase my co...

Hi Scott, Max gets on quite often and is spotted on the K3UK sked page most times when he is.Last night I stopped by the sked page to see how the activity for K3Y was going and saw a spot for K3Y/KH6 and got him in the log. I'm not sure if he was on the calender, but he was on the air. Keep an eye on...

Hi John, I use PVC caps. One eye-bolt on the top for support, and one on each side for stress relief for the wire. I use brass screws and nuts to connect the feedline to the antenna wires. My center support is my tower,so I just loop the coax down a few feet and tape it to the tower leg. If you don'...

Cool,a little action!! ha ha This may sound odd, but,I am what I am!! I don't get on the radio much in the summer. When Fall comes and I start to get back on the radio,I open the gap up on my J-38. I guess I'm a little rusty and feel like I have more control. As I get more practice,I close the gap to...

What ever you do, don't tie the rope to a piece of conduit and throw it like a spear...that doesn't work very well. Hi Paul, I learned the same way as your student. I only have had 1 or 2 times when the Op didn't QRS. Or I should say, stayed at a slower speed. When I sent QRS PSE,they started off slow and gradually went faster again. Easy to do I guess. I just sent to fast,TNX QSO and 73.Then called CQ again. When...
