When I started planning the special event I threw my lawyers' hat away and put on my John Wayne hat. I don't know how others run things like this and I'll admit, it is the first time I've run a special event. But, of all the little things I would like changed, this wouldn't be one of them. That stil...

I truly thought odified might have been a printer's term. I will play a little with the suggestions and then send a tiff file to you to try out. I think the certificate paper can already have a color border. Look closely at the border I used, it is not very well lined up. I didn't spend much ...

Before I answer, let's make sure we are talking about the same thing. I cannot speak for the Centurion award. I'm only referring to the Special Event and the sweeps. If K1Y/4 (N4ARO) contacts K1Y/5 (AD5VC) and I receive a QSL card from AD5VC confirming the contact the I will give him credit for the ...

Now that is an interesting issue. I don't know if the monthly SKN has a real proponent or leader. Maybe NT9K can adopt it and develop it further possibly incorporating his QSO party ideas into it.

I would love to see the monthly SKN become more than just a general idea and turn into a real event.

The latest version of the certificate with the odified fonts and the red KH6 and KL7 endorsements looks great!. I checked out Derw's grey-scale Logo addition, and adds a nice touch. I think including the club logo in one form or another is a good idea. I have a very nice 6 color HP printer that doe...

Good morning Alberto:

I think I'll buy a small pack of certificate paper and give it a try. I could probably add the KL7 and KH6 endorsements without using a rubber stamp if I can find a good color printer.

Thanks for the hint.

Here's my second try. I changed fonts a little and added dates. I haven't figured a good way (or have a good picture) of a straight key to add. Does anyone have a good graphic - maybe 300 dpi?

Very nice! Yes, that does have a professional look to it. I was thinking those gold foil stickers which are common to awards with the state picture on it. Your example seems much more professional looking than what I was thinking. I will play around with it a little more and incorporate at date. May...

Credit for K1Y (discussion moved from the list)

This topic has been moved from the main list. Don't be concerned about me dropping dead. I'll make sure the latest log is with another member just in case! ;) OK, let me try this again and hopefully we can find a solution to this problem or realize that there really isn't a problem. I had always me...

K1Y Sweep Certificate

Here is my first shot at a sweep certificate. I haven't found a printer yet so there may be significant changes. If you have any suggestions, please post them here. I could use some help with wording. Should the whole thing be Olde Englilsh or just parts? Ideas? I hope the gap on the left and right ...

K1Y QSL Card

The Lightning Bolt K1Y QSL card has been sent to the printer. It will take 3-4 weeks for a return. The first order is for 1000 cards. Next I will get to work on a sweep certificate design and selecting a printer. http://k4vd.net/images/qsl/K1Y_QSL_FRONT.jpg http://k4vd.net/images/qsl/K1Y_QSL_BACK.jpg

I understand now. Yes, a daytime event on the weekend may attract a good crowd. Would you pattern it after the Sprint? I could help with some background information and the PDF certificates. Do you have Corel Draw? Try this out... SKCC Weekend Warrior . Submit your list of SKCC QSOs worked during th...

A monthly QSO Party might be a bit much especially if it is 24 hours long. Most QSO Parties are once a year. Maybe a summer and winter party? It depends on the tolerance level of our members. The sprints have been going along nicely with just the email certificates. I'm not sure that an extra prize ...

The newsletter was not my idea. I have seen a sample of the layout and I think it is going to be great. I'm excited about getting the first issue. I'm not sure, but I think it is going to be electronic only. I'll look back at my email and find out who is heading up this project. Mark Saunders KJ7BS ...

Very cool idea. Maybe just 24 hours for the first QSO party. There is something that I wish we did with the Sprints but it never flew. Maybe an SKCC QSO Party would be a place for it. For variety, how about creating a theme for the exchange... a different theme each time. Instead of the same RST, NA...

Hi Bob:

I think it is a great idea. Would the articles go into the upcoming newsletter? Maybe "Elmer's Corner"?
