Rubber Stamps "Verified By"

I lost the recommended rubber stamp company. I found another:

http://www.qslstamp.com/

They seem to have some cool verified by stamps.

Can someone remind me who the other vendor was?

I don't think the new program will be starting until 1 March. We discussed not allowing any previous contacts and contact previous to becoming a Centurion to count towards the new award.

Frank will have the "official" details for us shortly I think.

Should be a real challenge.

New Services, Calendar and Chat

We're working on a couple of new services which may end up on the SKCC site if accepted. The first is an Events calendar. This calendar is in UTC only so there will be no confusion. A few of us are testing it out trying to figure out all the glitches so we can be of some help when it goes live. The ...

Our focus as Elmers is helping people become hams and hams become better hams. Would you refuse to help someone that had an antenna problem because they contacted you through the SKCC Elmer program? Now let's say for instance you didn't have the expertise needed to help with the problem (or maybe yo...

I've not heard back from Gordon yet. You are welcome to take the new Tribune program on. From this point on, I'll make suggestions but leave the decisions to you. One thing I would like to see is that we start from a clean slate. No contacts count before the plan is implemented. Also, no contacts co...

Lets just. OK, I'm going to send a note to Gordon (managing Centurion) and ask him if he wants to manage this or wants one of us manage it. That's assuming he's OK with the plan. I he wants one of us to take it I'll either run it from here or help one of you run it. Anyone want to snap it fro...

The "C" at the end of the number would be the verification right? Maybe I see your point... you need the SKCC number from each operator to get your Centurion. You are saying you should need the Centurion number for each operator to get Tribune. It does make sense. It was just an arbitrary ...

I'm not sure... do we really have to collect the Centurion number? I'm not against this but the FISTS exchange (FISTS NR 11712 CC 1798) is kind of long. Maybe it is enough to indentify yourself as a Centurion (SKCC 605C)? Maybe I could send SKCC NR 605C4? I'm game for about anything so if this is wh...

Follow-on to Centurion: TRIBUNE

PROPOSAL I mentioned this on the list a while ago and wonder if there is any interest in going for another level beyond Centurion. This would be a very difficult level to achieve and I wouldn't expenct anyone to be inducted any time soon. But I would like to get it rolling if there is enough intere...

Same here. My shack is always a terrible mess. But sometimes, when I want to take a picture of the setup or the keys I pile everything on the bench behind me. It doesn't take long after the pictures are done before everything is scattered across the desk again.

Shelves, I need shelves.

Hi Steve:

Excellent post. While many will say that setting up a key is all about personal taste (and I agree), it is also good to have a starting point. Once a person has a good starting point, they can easily progress from that point.

Thanks for the good advice.

When we first started discussing creating a group of Elmers I had hoped it would have developed further before simply posting a list on the website. Unfortunately, events overtook me and the list was posted. Then, of course, the anniversary event came about and that put me further behind. Let me thr...

Actually, I think the FCC requires 1-hour ID now.

The K1Y QSL that I send out will have your call/QTH. From there, the other op can take care of eQSL or LoTW.

Bruce: I just received the certificates you printed out. Beautiful! I can see that I need to tweak the border a tad. The print looks exactly like the graphic I have on file so that should be an easy fix. Also, I think I should remove the background color as the natural color of the certificate is pe...

I would suggest changing one thing - I think that requiring participants to submit their scores by the next Friday evening is just not enough time. At a minimum I think they should have at least until the next Sunday evening, and perhaps even more time. I will apply this suggestion to the Wednesday...

The rules look good. Keep in mind, it will take a few sprints to finalize the rules so make sure everyone knows that the first few are trial runs with the possibility of quick rules changes. I'll be happy to help with the certificates or provide you with the template I use if we keep the number of c...

I'm certain NAQCC would enjoy more participation in their sprints. Maybe one way to spread the word about SKCC is to participate and be active in other club events and discussions. I would participate in an SKCC QRP event but think that we would have more fun participating in an established event. T...

Do you think the anniversary event became competitive? It wasn't our goal. I wonder at what point that might have happened. As for too many events, I don't think that is a problem yet. We really have only three monthly events and only one is competitive, the SKS. The monthly SKN is definitely a ragc...

First... there is no rule about how many repeat contacts you had. Keep them in your log and if you worked them as K1Y they should be in the master log. You never know which one of the QSOs the other operator will confirm with a QSL. As this wasn't a contest, there is no such thing as a dupe. What ab...

This is the K1Y Special Event card for the First Anniversary of the Straight Key Century Club. Work a K1Y station before the end of January and send me (K4VD) an SASE with your QSO and I'll send you a K1Y QSL. They are out at the printers now. I expect to start sending out cards at the end of Februa...

Looking forward to it Bruce. I think we will have under 100 certificate winners. If I created the file for each, would you be able to print that many?

I have some funds to whelp with the costs. I would send you the batch of SASEs for them.

The files are on their way to you Bruce. I used your QRZ.com address. Hope that's OK. The files are 2 MB zipped. Each is a 300 dpi tiff file. Let me know if/when you get them OK.

Two more drafts for your approval. Pick one (or two if N1RX doesn't mind trying both) and I'll send it out for test printing. I think I like the SKCC key a little more than the SKCC logo but I'm not sure what it would look like in print. It's not becoming too busy, is it? http://k4vd.net/images/qsl/...
