Well, first - you have done an excellent job; I've really enjoyed those newsletters. Secondly, work has to come first. I am going through some transitions right now and am not sure what this year will be like. A day at a time. I do hope to see a newsletter again - but until then, just meeting fellow...

Will there be new editions of the newsletter?

Just dropping a note - first, I love the newsletter. Great content.

Second: when will another issue come out? Is there a need for help?

I would think that with 6000+ members, there might be some good stories and possible content waiting to be shared... and I for one would eat it up!

Is the newsletter dead? Is there a place for Elmers to share stories and such? I loved the newsletter, and I wish to help out a bit as time allows, by sharing what I have learned ... in story form would be great.

Re: Cost of a key

The Navy Flame Proof is an excellent choice and is near reasonable in cost. In my humble opinion, the Navy Flameproof key (World War II vintage, but plenty available) is one of the best affordable keys available. I use mine nearly 100% of my Straight Key operating time. I bought five over the cours...

I'll throw in my two-cents: Forty meters around 7.112 to 7.118 is a great window for slower code and easy-going conditions, now that most International Shortwave Stations have moved away. Also, 30 meters could be a really good idea at certain times of the day. Especially with summer seasons. Toward ...

Re: CW rocks my world

Hi Tomas, I didn't see a signature so I'm using what is on your web address. Let us know what you prefer. Yes, "Tomas" is my first name, and that name is what I prefer to be called by. Thank you for asking. Please don't let slow or " brain jumble" stop you from a qso!! None if u...

That's a VERY sharp-looking key! How did you remove the paint and achieve such a sharp result? I have another project I want to undertake sometime in the near future. I have a sounder that I would like to interface with the radio. I've heard that there is a sound-activated interface that allows you ...

That is what I thought. I am going to fix the Wiki page, too.

... later ... Well, I have made the changes to the Wiki page. Added a bit about QRS, too.

One of my operating positions...

I have two places at my home from which I operate my CW station. One is my regular 'radio shack' which is in the basement, in my office. The other operating position is in my travel trailer, which is parked in the backyard of my house. The pictures here show the trailer, the backyard, and the operat...

Some 'on-air' procedural questions

Ok - I'm not exactly a 'beginner' but my knowledge of CW procedure appears to be different than that of the following quote (taken from the Wikipedia 'Q Signal' page ): Some of the common usages vary somewhat from their formal, official sense. QRL? is often sent to ask "Is this frequency in use...

Wow!

Wow - what a cool idea - a WAC award. I like the Basic idea with endorsements and wild card... so, how about if some amateurs travel the AlCan hiway, and operate like DXpeditions from a territory? That would be SO cool to do... in a fun world. I wonder how many hams travel through any of those terri...

CW rocks my world

Ok... I think I will venture into this discussion. 1. This is the first club where I think I want to chase a bit of paper. Why? BECAUSE YOU FOLKS HAVE MADE IT SO DURNED FUN. 2. I am a VERY slow hear-er. I can send fast. I can SOMETIMES hear fast. But, for some reason, my brain gets jumbled and I get...
