Re: 50 in 50

I have an idea for getting WAS in 50 days, It's called "50 in 50" I don't know if something like this has been thought of before, so here it goes. Designate an OP or OP's in each of the 50 states. Work from one state to next each day, and in 50 days you could have your WAS. this could als...

Re:

have 3 SKCC members on 60M so far. Anyone else interested in this "new" band? I am interested, but feel a bit under the microscope there. If there was to be some sanctioned SKCC activity there we'd really have to mind our p's and q's. Would hate to see SKCC get a bad reputation there for ...

Re: 160 M suggested freq

My solutiion would be to move the SKCC suggested calling freq a bit down the band to maybe 1815 or some less busy freq. What do you think? I also have a problem with a 910 KHz local BC station that messes up 1820. I might suggest 1814 KHz. This mimics the 7114 SKCC freq (as well as proposed 21114 a...

Re: CQ GX

Drew, I like the concept. What kind of time frame are you thinking of - Maybe 24-hours ? Count me in (assuminig my rig will be repaired by then) ! 73, Ron, AC2C Ron, I will add you to the list of those who are interested. All depends on getting enough people together to set up a trial. Have to thin...

Re: "CQ GX" Feedback

I agree, there needs to be an explicit rule. I tried to figure out what it was about the original rule, "each station must QSO with another station before a subsequent QSO," and it mostly comes down to the fact that the individual stations don't have enough information to know if the rule...

Re: "CQ GX" Feedback

Drew--- With respect to rules regarding repeated exchanges with the same station, I would look to either loosen the rule a little or provide incentives for working other stations. As to loosening the rule, perhaps just require that at the end of an exchange the calling station must wait a calling c...

Re: "CQ GX" Feedback

I like this idea quite a bit. I especially like that stations are actively involved and scoring even while monitoring and waiting to break the pileup (hi) and that SWLs can get involved. Here is some feedback on the GX. Dave, thanks for all your comments... First, a quick comment on "code grou...

"CQ GX" FAQ

"CQ GX" FAQ: [Revised: 07/feb/2009] 1. What do the random character groups look like? 2. Why use random groups? Isn't that a lot of trouble? 3. How do I obtain a list of groups for sending? 4. Why are multiple contacts permitted? 5. What if the other op makes a mistake in transmission or ...

"CQ GX"

Re: Brilliant!

How does this kind of thing get set up and going? I just re-read the proposal again, after several months, and revised it a little for clarity. If you are interested in this I'd say to post your comments. Probably, they would get wider coverage in the Yahoo group. When I first proposed this contest...

I think we're already well behind the curve. If the entire thing were all planned out right now . (Look - italics - I love php forums. :D ), I don't know that we could get announcements in print media before the January start date. Anyway, what I haven't seen yet is somebody step up and say, "...

I like the idea but wonder about the complexity. I also wonder about the idea that someone needs something they already know. For instance, the originating station knows the message but they have to receive it for credit. That is a lot of receiving to do when you already know what the message is an...

Straight Key Relays - SKR

[ Straight Key Relays (SKR) --- Revised: 14/feb/08 ] Here is an idea I had for a slightly different form of CW contest. I posted something similiar to it some months ago ( Chain Reaction Sprint ). Re: Week End Sprints

Please keep up the good work you are doing with your weekend sprints. I am new to SKCC and I am working on my Century Club certificate. Re: Chain Reaction CW

To add to the message transmission I think SKCC #'s should be exchanged not just call sign's. Or was that listed as a rule and I just missed it? Sure, or if that's too much just ask for it during the QSO if you need it: "SKCC?" There would be a fair amount of give & take during the ex...

To all SKCC group, hello! GlobalQsl has the exact solution for you. We printed the Macabia qsl's in 2006 for 14 different calls.
