My first WES. I enjoyed the low key, no pressure format. Lots of fun! Thanks to all who copied my QRP sig.

K4DMU Operated by: Joe

Bands lousy. DX contesters all over 40 CW.Tornado in area. Computer trouble.
Had a ball !!!
Things didn't start looking up until the tornado went past.
Don't remember that mentioned in any propagation information.
Great fun and a real learning experience.

KC9KHG Operated by: Randy

Limited time on the air due to t-storms,but had a great time as always! Thanks to all those folks that put this on!

K6JF Operated by: Jim

Despite poor condx on 20m the last four hours, I managed to beat my personal best number of QSOs by 1 and had my personal best score. And I finally cracked the 1000pt level! Nice way to celebrate my first anniversary as SKCC member having joined Mar 9, 2008. Looking forward to the next WES.

KH6OZ Operated by: George

Thanks for all the QSO's rig:Yaesu ft-897D, ant:40M windom with heathkit tuner.

W9DLN Operated by: Dan

Started off slow but turned out to be a pretty good weekend. Thanks everyone!

W6UT Operated by: Dennis

Enjoyable WES. Even had some action on 15M.

KØLUW Operated by: Russ

Lots of qrn at my location Saturday nite because of the storms in the area but it got better on Sunday. The band conditions were not the best. Had a lot of trouble hearing the qrp guys over the noise. But always fun.

N2JNZ Operated by: George

VERY TOUGH for QRP but made it a challenge !! Thanks to all who had good ears !!! Used a TT Argosy 525D , 5 watts to a ZeroFive 40 meter vertical on 20 , 40 and 80 meters and used the Vibroplex 100th Anniversary Bug. Better condx next time !!!

WA1AR Operated by: Alan

Mixed bands. Some good band conditions some not. Jumped bands from 80,40 and 20. Used 3 diffrent antennas and the FT450 and a little on the Omni D. Got some time Sunday afternoon all alone, the XYL went to a ladies only party to spend money. Worked out well for all.

Alan WA1AR

N1LU/4 Operated by: Don

QRP in Florida this month. Not many QSO's with the FT817 and Buddipole. Thanks for the stations that managed to pull me out of the mud.

KA2BSK Operated by: Eric

Fun as always, but didn't have much time to operate. Band conditions were not that good and a contest made 40M unusable. Managed to get my 160M in the air and work Dan (W9DLN) before 0000Z. See you next sprint.

KE5PWL Operated by: Eric

Not a good time for me. My balun had problems, i could not get tuned up on any bands execpt for 80m. Hey at least i did manage 2 qso's. I'm the at least i did better than him station :-) I'll be back for the s.k.s. this month. watch out.

W3RT Operated by: Red

No time at all allowed for the WES from my QTH. Only able to operate a limited amount. Worked 9 stations, and 8 states; 5 "T"'s. Thanks to those that I did work. Hopefully next Sprint event will allow me more contacts.
Rig: Kenwood TS-940-S, 50 watts, to a sloper at 25 feet. Used the Navy Flameproof for all my contacts.

Well,
Glad to see the bands were in pretty good shape this time. Lot of DX members and good copy. Only got to play a few hours but a grand time was had. Big signal was of Dan, W9DLN, I think he was everywhere! 40 over. Got to work Feco for the first time too! Thanks Feco. Good to see Allen, HC2AD, back on.
Good photo of Vince,S52CC, set up in CQ magazine, Nice work Vince. Thanks to all and will see you in the SKS now the time has changed. 73

Band conditions were a challenge but still managed to work a few. Thanks to all, 73, Mark

K8JD Operated by: John

ONLY HAD A FEW MINUTES HERE AND THERE TO BE ON THE RIG.
One thing nice about this WES is ofthe few stations I worked, over half were newer numbers, above 5000. All my contacts were on 80 and 40 M and a big storm was sweeping across my state all weekend, high QRN from that, so had antennas grounded most of the weekend.

VE3FAL Operated by: Fred

I enjoyed being the Special SKCC member, but man I with teh ether godz would have given us a break..21 qso's, 3 bands, 1 C, 12 T's and 15 states.....
I will be glad to do it again but under much better band conditions I hope...

Between Thunderstorms in the area Saturday night, church, then grandkids I was only able to get on the air the last 3 minutes. My final contact was KC0RSX/QRP. Made my day.

FT1000MP, Alpha 68, 600-1000W, inverted vee, zepp. Time was limited this month. Thanks for the QSOs. Bands seemed only fair. 73, John, K4BAI.

KA5TJS Operated by: Allen

Not a contester but this could be fun. I will try harder nest time.

VA3NU Operated by: Larry

Band conditions seemed better on Saturday. Lots of fun as always.

WL7WH Operated by: Bob

wish the band condx were better, but lots of fun again...

NØTA Operated by: John

Nice way to get used to a new callsign -- think it confused a few folks initially! This time I used a K2 (100w), cobra and vertical, and K2RFP logging software (this is really nice!).

NG7Z Operated by: Paul

Equipment IC756P3, F12-C3, 40-2CD, dipoles, inverted L. Total time on 5 hours.
There was good activity on 7114 due to the heavy phone QRM on the 40M calling freq. Couldn't raise anyone on 80M. Band breakdown 32 on 40M and 53 on 20M. I wish people would get the exchange right. RST, SPC, NAME, NR. It's clearly shown on the WES rules page. Oh well, it works out in the end. 73 until next month. Paul NG7Z

N3JJT Operated by: Scott

Another enjoyable sprint! I am closer to my tribune, just a few more contacts! I had a lot of fun, just like any other time! 73s to all

The lower part of 40 was busy with the DX contest but above 7.100 was just the usual broadcast stations. Twenty was good on Sunday. I didn't hear anyone on 15 at all and didn't even try 10.

Didn't quite make the 50 QSO that I promised myself but it was in the 50s outside-couldn't spend all of Sunday down in the shack. 40 meters was a tough band at this QTH because of the DX phone stations. I missed the usual transition when 20 gets quiet and 80 isn't awake yet toward the end of the sprint. AS ALWAYS A LOT OF FUN! Thanks to everyone who was out there making waves, especially those who got hit with mine. 73 to all and see you next sprint!

Better band condx Sunday afternoon on 20 & 40m. Never heard VE3FAL Fred, but managed to work VE3KQN. Used a Navy Flameproof for this sprint.

AC2C Operated by: Ron

I ended up spending a bit more time that I had planned. Conditions were very strange.

Great WES. I can hardly wait for sunspots to really do their thing.

I could enjoy only a couple of hours working on sunday but enjoy every minute. This time used my Elecraft K2+hf packer amp (45w) on 20m and bencher RJ-1. Conditions on 20m not so good as before, but very happy to see how many members are on air. Enjoy SKCC.

A happy ham here, had a QSO from California to Alabama on 15 meters. Wish I had more time to be on the air.

WA2JSG Operated by: Curt

I couldn't spend a lot of time that I wanted to, but none the less, it was a very enjoyable event. The car battery only dropped a half a volt during the entire time (mostly receiving with an IC706), so I was happy about that.
Next time, I'll be outside on the picnic bench!

Thanks for all the patience with my 5 watt QRP signal. Reports went from 339 to 599.

AF2Z Operated by: Drew

Most of the action was on 80m on Sat night, somewhat busier than usual. 20m was not too bad midday on Sunday. Only got five QSOs on 40m. Wrapped up mostly with 80m on Sunday evening. Spent about 15 minutes trying to copy Fred VE3FAL on 80m, but no luck; then he called me again a little later with better condx-- tks Fred! (Didn't know he was "special" station!) My rig: Elecraft K3 running 12 watts to 100' endfed wire; German Junker straight key.

W5AG Operated by: Arch

Thanks to all participants.. I enjoyed the sprint. Lots of tribunes and centurions helped to improve score. 27 out of 46 QSOs were near 7114 frequency.
9 QSOs on 20m, 4 QSOs on 80m, heard some on 15m but no contacts there. "73" - Arch

My first WES and it was fun. Dusted off the Speed-X key from my novice days in 1977 and I had a great time!

First time...great fun!

GØRDO Operated by: John

Conditions were generally poor here with a lot of QRN. From about 2130z stations from the USA came through on 20Mtrs. Yet again - good fun.

Most of the time spent on 40 meters. Had some on 80 and 20 and one even on 15 this time. Ran Kenwood TS570 through the old Heathkit SA 2060A to an inverted vee up 25'. Made all the contacts with a '48 Vibroplex Original I had just picked up. Gotta love those bugs. Thanks again folks for all the contacts. 73's all!

NT9K Operated by: Bill

I had a good time this sprint. Used only 2 keys, the restored speed-x and my new Amplidan. Lots of QSO's this time. Thanks Fred VE3FAL for 2 bands. Worked Vince S52CC for a new SKCC DX country. Missed the last 3 hours. Made a few contacts on 15 meters, but 10 never did produce. Lots of beautiful fists heard.

Plenty of QRN at the start, at least 20 M was quiet when the band was open, 40 M was almost impossible with the SSB DX contest QRM. However, I was able to add some new states to my QRP WAS list. Warm weather finally arrived here and I had to take a break to tap a few maple trees during the sprint. Thanks everyone for a fine time.

Wow, conditions Sat night were terrible here. S-9 plus 10db noise on 80 meters, finally gave up. Sunday was much better, good signals on 20 meters. Turned the beam NE to get some New England states and Europe stations kept calling me, picked up 5 new countries on 20 meters - it's all good.

Had a great time and many, many great fists out there. See you next WES and the SKS on the 25th

KA1XC Operated by: John

This was my first WES and the timing was perfect, I was home with cold and my wife and son went visiting grandma for the weekend letting me play radio as much as I wanted. Bands were fairly good although 20 was a bit weak on Sat. and 80 was fairly noisy with QRN. I strayed too far off freq on 20 and got hijacked by a FISTS member, can they do that? lol :^)

Congrats and welcome to my friend Larry WA1LGQ who just became SKCC #5374 !

K4UFT Operated by: Ted

Condx not that great so I loaded a few more hamsters on the treadmill and wound the '706 up real tight to 100 Watts. As usual, 40 Meters carried the load.

KU4GW Operated by: Cliff

I only got 7 QSO's total, 2 on 40 meters and 5 on 20 meters. Conditions were pretty good, but I only spent about 2 hours total on the sprint. Beautiful North Carolina weather at 79 degrees kept me outdoors most of the weekend. Crazy weather considering I had 6 inches of snow on the ground one week earlier! I ran a wire under the window to the patio set on the back deck Monday so next month I can hook the key up outdoors & use my wireless headphones to work the next sprint outside. I had done that last year, but my big eared Bassett Hound "Willy" decided to do that wire run in. Anyway, I truly enjoyed what little time I did spend on the air and look forward to working a sprint outdoors weather permitting.

Conditions were not great in MT and I could only work a short time, but still I had a lot of fun (as always)...htanks, Ci

K1NV Operated by: Jon

I could only spend a half hour on the contest, but it still was interesting. Two non-members were worked which required extra QSO time, but that is what it is all about. Non-members may become new members if we explain what SKCC stands for. All QSO's were on 40 meters. A couple of CQ's on 20 meters went unanswered.

K1PUB Operated by: Chas

Not much operating time this month, and 40M was tough because of the SSB activity. But as usual I enjoyed what time I was able to operate.
