N9QU Operated by: Leo

Few sunspots, few QSO's. But lots of fun. Tnx to all es 73.

W6UT Operated by: Dennis

Prop was not good out here. Had yard work to do and was not on as long as I had planned. Still good time.

KH6OZ Operated by: George

Tried to get a 6m Qso all day. Couldn't make it. Almost
had KE7S. I got all Joes info but he didnt get mine.
I had fun again 73s to all.

AB1BW Operated by: George

Wow, what a great contest weekend!! Starting with the Fists sprint on Friday, the IARU on Saturday and the WES on Sunday plus my birthday thrown in for good measure made for a busy three days. It's too bad conditions for the WES were not very good but it was fun never the less. I was supprised when the band opened up to South America making it possible to work Walt(LW3EX),Luis(XE1YJL) and Allan(HC2AD). Had a great time. See you in August. 73, George

KG4W Operated by: Ed

Omly played off/on during last 3 hrs in this one. Worked the Fists Sprint & the IARU contest, so got my contest fix this weekend. Phil KL8DX had a nice sig from Alaska on 20 at 2102z. Worked Italy on 20 & Germany on 40, had 26 total qsos.

NT9K Operated by: Bill

The last 12 hours were pretty good with some decent action on 10 and 15 meters.
One of the biggest signals was K9SKC Ron on 28.050.
Just had a momentary pipeline to MD.
I worked the club call on 4 bands and several others on 3 bands.
Marcelo was cooking on his new bug and Walt LW3EX was strong on 20 meters too.

I only used 2 keys this time. My G3YUH amplidan and my LTA sideswiper which sees most of the action lately.
My last QSO of the sprint was also my 1000th SKCC qso.
Thanks for all the fun. 73, Bill NT9K..

My favorite key

LW3EX Operated by: Walt

Despite the poor conditions of propagation
CW signals are always listen.
Thanks all. 73, Walt - ..-

KC6ZZT Operated by: Joe

Glad to be on the air! Nicer Saturday evening, poor conditions Sunday.

K9DTH Operated by: Ron

Contacts were few from the start, with another contest on the bands and storm static at my qth but activity picked up near the end of the sprint. as usual it was a lot of fun.

KL7GLL Operated by: Gene

Propagation not esp. good, not many West Coast stations heard or wrkd. Caught K9SKC on 80 mtrs; 4 QSOs on 15 mtrs, incl. Walt, LW3EX. Hrd, but didn't wrk Allan, HC2AD. Caught Tom, K4ZGB, on 3 bands. Worked a number of folks on two bands. K9MMS and K4ZGB had consistently good signals and seemed to be everywhere. Lotsa fun, as usual.

VA3TSK Operated by: Greg

I only worked for a few minutes last night and today, to log my 3rd, 4th, and 5th QSO's on CW (first CW QSO was on June 18). Being new and nervous, I messed up while sending my number to Gary, K9MMS. To which he responded "Welcome to SKCC". What a great bunch of folks to get your feet wet with!

K2RFP Operated by: Dick

..

I can dream.

K6FFY Operated by: Nick

Hopefully I will be able to hear more members on the air as the solar conditions start to improve.

K9SKC/AC2C Operated by: Ron

A lot of fun... I got off to a late start and had to QRT early. I also worked 2 non-members and had fun telling them about the sprint and pointing them to the SKCCGroup home page.

I compiled a small set of statistics for K9SKC:
>> Bands worked: 5 (80M, 40M, 20M, 15M, and 10M)
>> Five stations were worked on two bands: K5ENA, K9MMS, N9FC, N9QU, and WA1LWS
>> One Station was worked on three bands: K4ZGB
>> Two stations were worked on four bands NT9K and W4HDM

It was also a thrill to be the very first SKCC QSO with a very new member -- W1VR, Dave, in Florida.

KC8HKI Operated by: Nick

Had a lot of fun, even though the big contest, and a local thunderstorm hampered a bit. Can't wait for the weekday sprint in a few weeks!

K0LUW Operated by: Russ

Could not participate as much as I had hoped..The kids and grand kids were visiting. The band conditions this weekend were the poorest I have seen for any sprint but still a lot of fun.

AF2Z Operated by: Drew

Made a couple of non-member contacts Sat night on 80m: Rob K3VYL and Burt K1OIK with his trusty J38. Made a few others on 40m but called it quits early. Spent a lot of Sunday near the rig, mostly trying to pick off any stations I could hear. Bill NT9K caught me on 15 and 10, my only contacts on those bands. Ed KG4W worked hard to copy me on 40m in the last hour. Was hoping for more QSOs toward the end but 20m died and 40m was changing fast. My station: K3 @ 12 watts; 100' wire up 30'; Junker straight key. -- 73, Drew

N2JNZ Operated by: George

Very tough conditions !! Also worked the IARU and had 66 Qs there. Thanks to all who strained and ear to hear QRP!! LOVE to BUG !!!

" Tis not a fit night for man or QRP " ( sort of W C Fields)

N2YHQ Operated by: Marcelo

I had loads of fun during this Sprinthatlon. Firstly, I was operating with a new Vibroplex Original Deluxe bug and I sincerely apologize to all the operators that had to qso with my station HIHI. Secondly, I had a new vertical antenna (GAP challenger DX) which gave me good results but unfortunately I could not copy K9SKC due to the low takeoff angle and the proximity of K9SKC to my station. An excellent event and a wonderful group of CW operators! Thank you, 73 Marcelo

KB4QQJ Operated by: Randy

Got home just in time to get one contact in in last ten minutes on 40 meters. Kevin was testing his rig.
Still wouldn't miss it though. Guess now I've got my low score out of the way!! Hope all had fun and I'll be ready with a new rig next WES. Have a Happy

Randy

Not quite, but as close as you get. Thanks Kevin

KG4BYN Operated by: Ben

well, i had a great time, although only one contact. BUT -had some thunderstorms and pretty poor band conditions out here in tennessee, not to mention the "other" contest and sidebanders, sadly. BUT i definitely appreciate my very FIRST contact as a member WITH a member! rig was a k1 at 3 watts, straight key was a chinese military d-117, antenna was a random wire off my balcony. hopefully i'll do better next time around. i definitely prefer a key over a paddle. thnaks for allowing me to participate.

K9MMS Operated by: Gary

Part time effort mixed in with IARU contest on Saturday. Conditions seemed very poor most of the time. Many signals were weak, with high noise levels and rapid QSB. Lost several QSOs --could not complete in the poor conditions. VK4 called, but after several tries, unable to complete a QSO.

Still a fun event as always. Thanks for the QSOs. 73, Gary

W1EJ Operated by: Ed

Not the best conditions for QRP. So many band openings on 20 meters; too bad they only lasted 30 seconds or so. Several times I got half a QSO; they got my exchange or I got theirs, then they faded away.I got about ten SRI OM no CPI! Tried dipole, long wire, vertical; same results.Just like fishing all day and catching nothing. I had fun!

K9JP Operated by: Jeff

Thanks to all that heard my mobile/QRP signal. I had a lots of FUN!
Sorry about the rough road and mistakes sending from time to time.
73 and Good Health, de Jeff K9JP/m QRP SKCC 3008T

KC0RSX Operated by: Len

Only had time for one QSO, but it was Ron K9SKC/AC2C booming into SE MN here.

WA1AR Operated by: Alan

Saturday night used up with visiting kids and grandkids.
Started offically Sunday morning. Used 80,40 and 20. 80 was the worst band with static and crashes. The old HRO works quite well with a little outboard audio filtering and the internal Xtal filter. Used the FT450 on 40 and 20. Got in about 4 hours but at least 1+ hour Sunday afternoon on 80M was very unproducive. Used K2RFP Logger and worked him as well. I still can't copy call directly into the keyboard so I copy on paper then put them in to the program at the end of the QSO. Second time I worked no Centurions at all.

Alan WA1AR

HRO and pair of 807s uses on 80M without much success

KL8DX Operated by: Phil

I spent the weekend outdoors, miles from civilization rather than indoors playing radio. By the time I got to the radio on Sunday around 2050z, the band was in poor shape but I did manage my whopping 8 contacts. I only did S&P on 20 since there was nothing on any other band. By 2215z the band totally fell out! After that, I only heard two other stations which were too weak to work, K6JF and KK7YJ, and that was right about the end of the contest with KK7YJ heard at 2347z.

My farthest contacts were with W4FOA in GA, KG4W in VA, and then K9SKC (Ron) in MD. My contacts moved west from there.

I did look for some WES contacts briefly on Saturday morning but the IARU was all I heard. I recently ordered my Navy Flame Proof 26003A from Bunnell, so I can't wait to give it a run during a future SKS/WES. Thanks for the contacts and for those that make this and all the SKCC contests possible! Thanks also to Ron, AC2C, for activating K9SKC. Nice signal up this way Ron, even with the poor band conditions.

Rig: Icom 756PRO

HC2AD Operated by: Allan

Nice weekend. Few contacts regarding few free time. A lot of qsb so sorry for stations i could not copy.
Good notice is that i get more skcc No. and i can count 90/100... Get new numbers had been very difficult in the low part of the cycle but there are no dubt i will finish soon.
In this time I blow the dust to my oldie Ameco K4. I had it like a toy for years...until few months that i decided to enjoy skcc group.
73 from Ecuador
Allan/hc2ad
skcc 3671 (i hope "C" soon)

VE5SMC Operated by: Sean

This was my first time on the air with CW, and I broke in my new SKCC Key (#133). QRM from the IARU contest made it hard to copy with my wide-filtered formerly SSB only rig, and antenna problems on Sunday kept me from making as many contacts as I wanted, but I had a heck of a lot of fun! I will be doing this again.

KD7ZVI Operated by: Brad L Cleaver

This was so much fun! I got on because I had some free time while on the road and I wanted to try for a couple more SKCC numbers toward my Centurion. I have an Icom 7000 into a 40 meter hamstick in my Peterbilt tractor. K6JF heard me and mentioned during our QSO that "sounds like ur not doing the sprint...".
I didn't realize there was a sprint because I had only put the 2 hour sprint on my calendar.

Well, after a quick check of the SKCC calendar, I decided I'd better get in on this. Conditions were fairly quiet and at one point I ended up dialing down the power to around 20 watts because the power supply to my Icom was down to 9.5 Volts at 100 watts.

The IARU contest stations weren't much of a problem. I'd also like to thank everyone I worked for their courtesy and patience. What a bunch of great operators.

I'd particularly like to thank Dave KI6BHB for his patience and finally copying my info at 5 watts to a hamstick. Bravo! Can't wait to do it agn and for more than 3 hours.

K8JD Operated by: John

Only had about an hour to participate but it was mid-day and didn't try for the less than 5 W category with my 80 Meter Cub ! Maybe next sprint !

W3RT Operated by: Red

Crazy schedules compromized competetive compliance.

Didn't get on the air until late, due to above confusion.

Hope to be more active in near future.

Tnx to all that I was able to contact.

73, Red, W3RT, SKCC # 3237T, in PA.

WB8OGK Operated by: Bruce

Well, I didn't make a big effort this time around, had other things to do and there were storms in the area, so operation was limited.

I went QRO for a couple of QSOs right at the end to help others out, but I'm not going to count those toward my score, since I only "compete" as a QRP station. (Yes, I have sullied my QRPpurity, I admit it... oh the shame of it all)

Lets hope for at least a few sunspots soon!
