Got in late and I lost a few contacts early on with QSB on 40m. SRI guys. QRN was bad too. Other than that, it was another good evening with the SKCC bunch! I stopped for a short QSO with NS7E Art in TX. HI! Didn't realize how bad my QSO skills have gotten. Need to work on that. Thanks, Art. See all y'all in the July WES! --Jay
MY SKS not really productive..20m went away at about 0110Z..HERD only few stations..herd a couple more only once and gone. TNX to: K3WW, W8WTS, R7DA
AA6AC Bob CA 6276S..
Great to have a chance to participate tonight. Many family things seem to come up on sks night or else the bands are very bad. Thanks to all who worked me including AC6FU. Conditions here tonight were better than they have been for several days.73
Love that we have these activities! A pleasure to work those I was able to this month. About half on 20m and half on 40m. Thanks!
Could participate only for the last 30 minutes, and I had a blast (my score doesn't match the fun I had, hi hi). Thank you everyone for participating, to the organizers, and the stations that put the effort in pulling my signal from the noise. Thanks again. SKCC rocks! CU AGN SOON IN THE BANDS!! Ruben, AC2RJ.
Thanks everybody for putting up with my buggy bug fist. I'm practicing so I can really annoy people on Field Day LOL!
Participated on and off for an hour.. R7DA had the best signal I heard. Lots of fun as usual, in spite of all the interruptions. 73 til next month, Peter
Not much time to play this evening - just a little over half an hour but still had fun. Hope to catch you on the bands during the month - 73 de Tom
Another fun evening at the radios, thanks to everyone that bothered to dig into the noise level and copy my weak signals again. C U on the bands. (my ham shack is a mess, but its a fun place to be !! ) 73 to all ! de AL7JK, John
Probably gave up on 20 too soon, 40 had louder signals but seemed slower.
Got home with 5 minutes left.. made two QSO! Thanks to W7GVE, ED and Alex, R7DA! Boy I wish I had gotten home earlier!!
Hope everyone had a good time. See you next event.
Running QRP with YouKits HB-1B into a Perth Outbacker mounted on an Alpha Delta Outpost Tripod on the back patio. Used my Navy Flameproof key.
Only had time for a few contacts.
A bit of traffic getting home so I was off to a late start. S-8 QRN levels. It took a bit to get a run going but once I did I pretty much parked on 20m and kept a decent SKS rate.
Tonight seemed to favor the northeast as far as signal strength. Happy Solstice!
20 & 40 were OK here in WNY, but 80 was poor. Nice turnout for this SKS. Rig: IC-7000 at 50w. into dipole up 25 ft. w/ straight key. 73 to all.
Many thanks to stations I worked , Bands were QSB & QRN here with approaching storm . Thanks to stations pulling out my QRP with 5 watts. 73 Don
HB1B QRP 5 Watts. End Fed Antenna
SKCC is great. Didn't get started until after 01:00.
Forgot about SKS until just before it began. I only had my old HW-16 on and ready, so that's what I used! Lots of QRN on 40m and 80m, but I made a few contacts and had lots of fun.
Propagation seemed pretty good and stayed on 20m the entire 1 hour I had to play. Most of my contacts (12) were long...MA (KO1U...thanks Mark), GA, FL (N4OW...hey Al...that was late for East Coast), WV, etc...quite a few OKies to boot. Lots of fun and see everyone next WES. Don KF7DS
Thanks for the Q's! K3 & KPA500, doublet & vertical, Begali Spark key, K2RFP SprintLogger.
Fun SKS tonight, 20 was in fine shape here but not many SKS stations on the band. Highlight was working Alex R7DA and AC6FU. See you all next month. 73 de N4ow AL
A fun SKS tonight, band conditions were good on 20m, the only band I worked.
Worked Russia and CA tonight on 5 watts from my KX2 into my EFHW vertical wire antenna, and TinyBug key !
Thanks again to the ops out there for a fine job with my QRP signal !
See everyone next month in the WES !!
72/73 from Ed
Managed to get on for a few minutes with the HB-1B and sideswiper.
I usually search and pounce, but 40 did not seem as busy as usual, so I tried calling cq this time. This strategy is different but definitely a good experience. Thanks to all the stations that heard and responded to my 5W QRP. KX3, dipole@45', Vibroplex straight key.
Ran on 7.059 for the first 30 minutes. Thanks for the calls.
Kenwood TS-530S, OCF Dipole, and Begali Spark.
A fair amount of QRN especially on 40m, but felt conditions were a bit better than we have experienced in the past. I didn't overwhelm with a great number of contacts, but snagged the bonus station. The highlight was working R7DA on 20m. I just got my new AV640 vertical installed a few days ago and find I am generally hearing much better. I also got to try out my newly acquired Chinese D117/K4 and Hi Mound HK706 straight keys. My new "T" is also in play and I am climbing the hill to achieve TX2 and onward from that HI HI. All the best. VY 73 DE VA7UX
I mostly Searched and Pounced in this SKS for my 21 Qs. I did loose one QSO in the closing minutes when I did call CQ. Someone came back to me, clear strong signal and I typed the call, only my computer cursor wasn't on the SKCC Logger program. No callsign and I couldn't remember it, KB#???, so I asked for a repeat. Nothing! I really miss my memory. Thanks to all for the QSOs. 73 de Art W2NRA SKCC #11734S
From Camden NY tonight.
I had many interruptions but enjoyed what I was able to get--- hope to do better next time..73/ED/W7GVE
40 meters was open, but with QSB and QRN. 20 was ok, but Alex, R7DA was the strongest signal. Lots of fun. See you all next time.
Not a very big score but big fun!
I was surprised to hear so little activity on 80 m. Conditions were good on 15 m through 80 m.
Always enjoy these sprints. LNR LD5 at 5w into a 64 ft end fed sloper. Key was old Speed-X straight key. Special tnx to Alex (R7DA) for pulling my sig out. Thanks to all who make these sprints possible. 73 Ken
Fun event as always. Used my IC-7200 running 75 watts to a multi-band vertical (elevated). Kent Straight Key. Made contacts on 20m, 40m, and 80m (in that order hi hi). Thanks for the contacts.
Just got in on the last hour or so but was surprised at the good opening on 20 meters. Then switched to 40 for last 2 qsos. Thanks to everyone and good to work Alex R7DA from Russia who had a great signal into Oklahoma. Tnx George KB5AE for another Nice qso. here in OKC.
Not too many contacts, but another fun SKS!
was tough going on 20m, except a QSO across the continent -- nice activity with pleasant runs on 40m
My first SKS. I was not able to work the entire 2 hours. Poor band conditions, but it was fun.
Condx iffy for me here tonight. Thanks all for patience.
