Team W8SR/K8AQM as W8SR/4 Multiop in Florida took Top overall this month, with 105 member stations from 37 s/p/c's on the air.
Really nice to see such a presence on the Bands for SKS. Thanks Everyone !
Our Bonus station for April SKS will be in Pennsylvania.
See You all then,

Lots of activity on 40. I think I'm the only one left without a C, T or S!
73 Dave AA3EE
That was fun! Thanks everyone for a great time and tolerating my buggy bug fist. Jim
Shared time with local nets and had some nice contacts on the SKS...thanks to all for the Q's 73 Rick
Pretty noisy on this end - big storms to the south and east. Spent most of my time on 40m. I work an unusual number of new members this sprint.
Good time, as always. Condx a lot better than last weekend's CWFun event! Looking forward to the next one.
Vy 73 to all, Lee K1LEE
Back on the air after 37 years...first SKS...not the last...
Thanks for the QSO's. Only got to operate 45 minutes, thunder storms forced me to QRT. CU next month
First time. Got a late start due to arriving home very late after a 2 hour commute. I'm sure my procedures were bad as was my logging. I had to use notepad since nothing in N1MM seemed to match. Been a while since I used my J38 and it probably showed. Had a great time, and thanks for being so welcoming! Will do better next time.
20M was great for 1.5 hours then it just died! Thanks for all the Qs. Sure had fun. 73 Dale K3SEN
This was my third Sprint. Really different. Worked mostly 20 meters, 125 watts to a Hygain TH7DXX at 80 ft. When W4RQ called me on 14.053 Mhz I wasn't sure how to report his signal tone. I never heard anything like it. Not exactly a "Churp" or "Hashy" but more like an unusual momentary tone jump. Maybe an unstable voltage problem. Anyway it sure sparked the sprint. I gave him a 599 extremely loud here in Howard, Pennsylvania. See ya all in the next sprint. Lots of fun.
My appologies for duping Russ K0LUW, was logging on paper (it is a drag), though I had worked him on 20 meters and didn't look, it was on 40 and I killed some of his time again on 40.
Was also multitasking, that had me a bit diverted. Sounds like many of you guys were rather active on 20 and 40
Looks like a good turn-out! I spent most of my time on 20m. Had to run a top priority errand half an hour into it, but got back before the start of hour 2. Used my Novice J-38 for most of the Sprint but also used my 1980's Vibroplex bug for those of you who were cruising at a pretty decent clip. I ran my Yaesu FT-857 at 100 watts into a Cushcraft A3S Tri-band Yagi up 30 feet and a Butternut HF9V ground-mounted (83 radials) on 40m.
Fastest 2 hours on earth ! thank you to all that called me. 20m was very good here, 40 was good and noisy here, it sounded like a summer T-storm. That's what makes it a challenge.
Thank Goodness I worked at least one station!
Well I work Rich W4RQ every now & then but not tonight. Was nice to work W8SR/4 (Dave & Ted-K8AQM) in Florida tonight. Also worked several new stations...Great sigs from all directions on 40 meters here. Thanks for a fun evening & 73's
20 & 40 were in good shape here, but 80m. was lousy! Rig: IC-7000 into dipole up 25 ft. w/ straight key. 73
I retired in order to do this more often. Stuff keeps happening :(
I am fighting a nasty case of shingles on my head, but I said the heck with the discomfort, blew the dust of the Nye and had the pleasure of finally playing. Better conditions too.
This was my first SKS, enjoyed it! Thanks!
Thank You for all of the contacts.
GL es 73,
Larry KA8HFN SKCC# 2046T
not many qsos but had fun!
Worked half of the Sprint. I have been doing a MASSIVE international fiber optic project here in WNY, so I haven't had much time to get on the radio lately. It was great seeing all of the new SKCC numbers/members. Thanks to all that worked me, and good luck to all!!!
Next contest, I'll be running QRP with my new LNR Precision "Mountain Topper" transceiver.
Happy Easter everyone!
73 de KB2HSH
FORGOT ALL ABOUT THE SKS TILL AL N4OW TOLD ME ABOUT IT WITH ABOUT TEN MINUTES TO WAIT. HURRIED UP AND CREATED AN SKS LOG. NEVER FOUND W4RQ. DID WORK A COUPLE OF NEW MEMBERS AND WAS HAPPY TO SEE THEM IN THE SKS. THIS BUNCH IS JUST SO MUCH FUN. NOW IF THE BANDS WOULD IMPROVE THOSE REAL WEAK STATIONS WOULD BE EASIER TO WORK. OH WELL NEXT TIME!
My first SKS. Whew!
Good fun again. Worked Rich (W4RQ) with a crazy warble on his signal. Thanks to all for the QSOs and hpe 2 wk u agn. 73
Good turnout tonight. 20M was in pretty good shape and was able to work quite a few QRP stations. There were a few I just couldn't copy through all the action. Thanks for the great time. 73/72, Gary
Time changed...clock didn't. Ooops.
Got in on the last hour and found a few Q`s on 40m which had many S9 plus stations.
73 Mark KI0I
First SKS I've worked in ages and I can sure tell membership has increased! I could have done a lot better had I stayed at it the entire time because there were so many SKCC stations on the air you couldn't move the VFO 500 Hz without finding another one! I stopped at 15 QSOs because my neck got to hurting. Looks like I'm gonna have to get the doc check me out. For almost 2 weeks now every time I sit down at my radio and PC my neck starts stinging right on the bone at the top of my spine. Messes up all of my fun! Anyway, until that began happening I had a absolute blast tonight using my trusty old J.H. Bunnell CJB26003A Navy Flameproof straight key. Very 73 to one & all from KU4GW Cliff SKCC#652 in Taylorsville, NC Grid EM95iv
Joined the SKS late. S&P mostly on 20m-only. QRP 5w on the Elecraft K2, 2el yaga at 55ft. Deep QSB at the end of the session.
Nice SKS. 20 meters was open from FL to CA!
A thunder storm had just passed through here and the QRN was bad, so I apologize to those that I could not hear well enough to work. Looking for better conditions next time...73 Bill Outlaw #3.
Been running QRPp (1W) since last WES and did not realize it. No wonder I could not get K0LUW, W5ZR, and KE5AL, during SKS, and normally I could easily get them. Took forever to get W0YBS tonite. 73 Brian
The bands weren't that great tonight but it is always nice to get on the air with some great CW fists and have some fun. Thanks for the contacts and a special thanks to the organizers for putting these events together. Tonight is was the KX3 running 75 watts through the KXPA100 amp to the 80 meter loop. 73, Jim
20 meter signals weak and fading;40 meter signals beginning to develop...still lots fun! 73 de N6CMF
Not really into it tonight, hockey game on TV and things were clogged up on the bands. Found my 1 watt fighting the qro stations to get boring on my end so I pretty much gave up. Thanks to Bob W0YBS for the 2 contacts on 20 and 40 meters. Maybe next SKS it will be fun again. KX3 1watt.
Tnx agn fer all the fun everyone. 73 Randy
Feeling under the weather, so only got on for the first half hour.
It was a fun sprint, great bunch of ops out there, had a ball.
Bands were weird at the start but second hour 40 was predictable. Fun night.
good sks, see you all next Sprint.
Had low expectations after the sun's recent tantrums, but 40 warmed up nicely after a slow start. Heard almost no activity here on 20 & 80, but did hear some new calls on 40 and had a good time; shud have skedded more time for the sprint. Thanks to all who worked me and thanks again to the SKCC volunteers who keep the sprints alive. 73 Ron VE3FMW
Condx here were horrendous haven't heard them this bad in a long time, noise level fairly high sparsely populated 2 Qso in the first hr. Condx did not improve so I gave up after the first hr. I had asked a Friend, whom I'm trying to help, to listen in hence my code speed was below what's nornal for me, hope you all forgive me. Brion
Band was good lots of stations on the air - enjoyable nite.
Thanks to those who heard me through the crowd.
73 - Brian
Usual HB1B/Bencher combo in action on 20 looking for new ones for my WAS quest-none tonight but still fun. Thanks and CUL
Had a great time as always. Went from 20 to 40 and my runs seemed to have puttered out. Nothing heard on 80. Thanks for the qso's and hope to see you in the next one. 73-Bob-W0YBS
Hard to work the bonus stn if you stay in one place the whole time. Oh well great fun anyway.
Ooops, I missed the first half hour. As always SKS was a lot of fun. As always . . . too short! 73 Art W2NRA 11634S
Strong Signals on the ZS6BKW but stronger QRN. Still fun! Thanks all.
I almost forgot about the sprint but my XYL reminded me that I had that "thing" tonight! Condx were pretty good and lots of activity. A lot of new calls. Spent first hour on 20 then went to 40. I was surprised when Rich W4RQ called me just before the closing bell. K3 at 100 watts to my KT-34A and CF Zepp. Vibroplex bug and German WW2 key.
Ran the FT1000D at 150 watts, my Bug didn't like it and chirped like an angry bird! Changed to side tapping a Vibroplex single paddle and W3NP in WV was my last QSO right at the witching hour, Thanks Dave, you provided the perfect ending tonight!
Again, a vry enjoyable SKS. 30,80 sure were QRN. Plenty of activity on other bands. Station; Flex 6300,OCFD at 50', key-homebrew st key. Look for you all again next time....73 and GB
Fun 2 hour sprint. Station was a Yaesu FTdx 1200 and a MFJ Mag Loop running 5 watts. Key used was a Navy flameproof. Thanks to those who "Dug me out of the mud". 73, Dan
As always, I enjoyed working some wonderful cw folks.
Conditions were good on 40M. Showed up late; but just stayed on 40M and kept busy til the end. Tnx for the qsos....73 Bert
If it's possible to have too many big signals, thats what I heard tonight. Had a great time thanks to the great ops and to the people who work to put the SKS on the air.
lotsa bad QRN so I thought I did well.. several times I missed who was calling me -- my apologies--
Loads of fun !
Got so 'keyed up' could hardly sleep after sprint, Hi!
Great fun even with low dipoles. K8AQM and I enjoyed the event.
Good condx on 40M. Lots of strong sigs heard here in central New York. Thanks for the contacts! Garry
Band conditions fair on 20 and 40 meters here in Oklahoma. Limited time for this one but great to hear everyone and thanks for the QSOs. 73
I had a lot of fun with 5 watts and a vertical! I can't wait for the next WES!
Only worked a few stations tonight, but it was good to get on the air for a little while.
Another fun filled SKS - thanks to all the ops and to the SKCC for putting this on. 73 tom
Another great sprint! I'm finding a low number (12) can be a disadvantage, a lot of people can't believe my number is that low. Thanks for all the people who copied my 5 watt signal. Tonight's station is the Flex 3000 into a dipole at 30 ft, the key was the 1941 Vibroplex Original.
40m noisy here in NC - great bunch of operators!
Stayed on 40m, what a crowd!
Good fun, thanks to all.
Another great event!!
I ran QRP tonight using the Ten-Tec Argonaut VI and my stealth dipole. The key was a Nye Speed-X straight key. There were quite a few members on 20 and 40. Fun as usual. Thanks for the contacts.
Lots of Fun
